Supporting Our Local Students
4G Student Network

The City of Glenwood Springs has partnered with the Roaring Fork School District to provide free 4G internet to students in need through the Community Broadband Network.

Started during the COVID pandemic, Community Broadband Network took ownership of the program in 2025 to ensure that students in need could continue to receive quality internet to their homes at no cost.

Students and Families

The Community Broadband Network supports families and students in the Roaring Fork School District through the 4G Student Network, a free internet program that provides access to a 4G LTE system to students in the district who would otherwise lack internet access at home.

CBN took ownership of the program in 2025. Families currently enrolled in the program will continue to receive internet through the use of mobile hotspots.

Do you or your student qualify?

CBN can provide access to the 4G Student Network to students in the following locations:

  • Basalt
  • El Jebel
  • Carbondale
  • Spring Valley
  • Glenwood Springs

If your student attends school in one of these towns and are in need, please contact the Family Liaison at the school where you or your student attends. The Family Liaison will help determine if you live within the coverage areas and are qualified to receive free internet through the program. A full list of Family Liaison’s at each school can be found here

About the Program

The 4G Student Network was born from the idea that all students should have access to the resources they need to have a comprehensive education. Started during the COVID pandemic, the Roaring Fork School District created a network focused on providing for students in need.

In 2025, the City of Glenwood Springs and the city-owned Community Broadband Network agreed to take over the program, ensuring that existing users would continue to receive access and that new students in need could continue to join the network.

We would like to thank all CBN customers for their help in making this program a success. Your support enables us to continue providing this program and ensures our future generations have access to the internet to enhance their education.
